  • PADEL RACKET

    Firstly you'll need to start with a racket. You'll need a well balanced padel racket. Light, easy to swing, and made for fast, social play. Click here to discover our collection of padel rackets.

  • PADEL BALLS

    Secondly you'll need padel balls. Padel balls differ from tennis balls with a softer, slower bounce for longer rallies. Available at all padel clubs.

  • PADEL COURT

    Then we'll take everything to the court. The padel court is compact and enclosed, with glass walls and fencing around a 20 × 10 m doubles court.

THE RULES

Serve

  • Serve must be underhand, hit below waist level.
  • The ball must first bounce behind the service line before hitting the opponent’s diagonal service box.
  • A serve hitting the net but landing correctly is replayed (let).

Equipment

  • Court size: 10 m × 20 m, enclosed by glass and mesh walls.
  • Padel racket: solid face, no strings.
  • Approved padel balls.

Score

  • Matches use the same scoring as tennis: 15, 30, 40, game.
  • Sets are won at six games with a two-game lead.
  • A 6–6 tie triggers a 7-point tiebreak.

Faults

  • Two service faults lose the point.
  • Hitting the ball before it crosses the net is a fault.
  • The ball touching any surface outside the court is out.

Ball-in-play

  • Ball must bounce once before hitting a wall.
  • Players may use their own walls to return shots.
  • Ball remains in play if it bounces off the wall and lands within the opponent’s side.

Player conduct

  • No verbal distractions during play.
  • Players must alternate serves every game within the team.
  • Fair play and respect for opponents are mandatory.
